The Lighthouse Keeper - an erotic spanking romance work in progress

Delighted to be a part of WIP it up Wednesday. My work in progress is The Lighthouse Keeper.

This is a title that has been simmering away for weeks. I really must knuckle down and finish it! Perhaps I need the motivation of chocolate, or a spanking ...

Anyway, the story is a about a holiday romance between Katrina and Ben, the sexy as hell lighthouse keeper. Here's the opener. I hope you like it. And I hope I get round to finishing it!

**********

Ben headed towards the lighthouse, skirting the brimming rock pools, to walk along the sweep of damp golden sand, leaving a trail of damp footprints in his wake. The beach was strewn with shells, a myriad of pebbles, curling strands of green weed and other debris left by the outgoing tide. Most of the tourists had fled when the heavens opened, and now the beach was practically deserted except for those few who didn't care about getting wet and wind-blown.

The raucous cry of seagulls was carried on the breeze as they soared through the sky then glided slowly downward to skim the surface of the sea, some of them bobbing comically on the eddying waves. In addition to observing the antics of the gulls, Ben's keen eyes saw a figure crouching in the shallows. He paused, staring. Even at this distance he could see it was a woman, her sodden tendrils of long blonde hair twisting and fluttering as the wind caught them. He shrugged, then carried on, but when he next turned his head, he found it odd that she remained in exactly the same position.

She appeared to be hugging herself, frantically rubbing her arms as though she were cold. He fleetingly wondered how long she had been standing there in the water and why the hell she didn't just move out of it. The August afternoon had been bright and sunny prior to the rain, but the sun had now disappeared behind low grey clouds, and the wind was gusting keenly from the sea. Thinking that maybe she was in some sort of trouble, he changed direction and headed for the water's edge.

His instinct was right, for as he drew closer, he could see how pale and strained her face was, and he could hear her teeth chattering.

"Hi. Everything ok?"

Her long hair was plastered to her skull, escaped tendrils whipping her face, the ends floating around her shivering form. She was wearing a white bikini top, and he couldn't but help notice the outline of her nipples through the flimsy fabric that barely covered a pair of well rounded, nicely full breasts.

"Y-y-yes – I'm f-f-fine."

“Yeah? You don't look fine to me. Your lips are turning blue! Get yourself out of the water before you get hypothermia.”

“I-I'm just p-p-paddling,” she stuttered. “I'll be g-g-going soon.”

“Paddling? I don't think so.” He stepped forward and extended his hand. “Come on, lady, out you come.”

She made a small movement as though she were about to reach out and take his hand, but then held back, shaking her head. "I c-can't. I can't come out of the w-w-water," she said, giving him a distressed look, her shoulders shaking with cold as she hugged her wet arms over her chest.

"Why not?"

"Um... well … b-b-b-because..."

"Because?"

"It's gone,” she wailed. I'm going to have to tell him.

“What has?” Geez, this woman is hard work.

“M-my bikini bottom."

Ben's reaction was instant. He guffawed loudly, a big booming laugh that exposed a row of gleaming teeth and crinkled the corners of his eyes. The woman glared at him, the faintest tinge of pink blushing her cheeks.

“Hah,” Ben spluttered. “Sorry, Miss Mermaid. I didn't mean to laugh at your... predicament.” His face broke into another grin as he mischievously darted a covert glance down into the murky water below her waist. Then the gentlemanly side of him kicked in. He shrugged off his battered leather jacket and held it out. “Here. Put this on. It's long enough to cover your, um … well, it's quite big,” he said lamely. “And it doesn't matter if you get it wet.”

She reached for it with shaking fingers and slid her frozen arms into the sleeves. “T-turn around while I f-fasten it.”

“Sure.” He obliged, listening to the lap of the waves as her cold fingers struggled with the zip.

“Need any help?”

"No," she snapped.

When he heard the zipper slide up, he turned. She waded towards him, sea water sloshing around her. Her blue-grey eyes were the colour of the sea, and there was an angry glint in them.

“Thank you very much-”

“Think nothing of it,” he interrupted. “Glad I could help.”

“I hadn't finished.” She glowered at him, her eyes reminiscent of leaden rain clouds. “Thank you very much for laughing at me, you toad.”

“What? Me – a toad?! That's not a very polite thing to say to the guy who rescued you.”

“It wasn't exactly a rescue,” she said dismissively. She was already barging past him, walking quickly over the sand. She paused in her tracks and turned to face him.” He was admiring her nice long legs. The jacket came to her mid-thighs... such delectable thighs they were too. “And anyway, I saw you peeking! That wasn't very polite either.”

“Hey, I stopped to help, didn't I? Gave you my best jacket.”

“Best jacket? This old stinky thing?” she retorted.

“Huh. My jacket does not stink. If you don't want it, hand it over.” He held out his hand. That's got her. She's run out of smart-assed remarks now.

“I'm keeping it.” Off she went again. He soon caught her up on his unfairly long legs.

“I didn't say you could keep it.”

“My need is greater than yours.” She stumbled and would have fallen if he hadn't caught hold of her arm. “Oh damn and blast! Bloody pebbles!”

“Where are your shoes, woman?”

“I had a pair of flip-flops but the damn things were washed out to sea.”

“Don't look at me like that. I'm not giving you mine.”

“I never asked for them. Anyway, you have feet like an elephant.”

Ben's eyes sparked and his palm began to itch. “First I'm a toad, then I'm accused of peeking and having a stinky jacket – which you appear to have stolen – and now I have feet like an elephant. Don't you have a good word to say about me?”

“No.” She strode on, cursing as the shale bit into her bare feet.

“Not even a thank you?” Miss Mermaid opened her mouth to retort … no doubt it would have been something rude... when she stumbled again and crashed into Ben. “Oh I've had enough of this,” said Ben. He grabbed her and hoisted her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. “And now I'm a taxi service. You'll be getting a bill for my trouble.”

“Ohhhhh!” she shrieked. “Put me down! At once!”

“And let you cut those pretty little feet on the rocks? No, I don't think so.” He strode on, a smirk on his face as he held her tightly as she wriggled and kicked. “I'd be careful if I were you,” he warned, “it's not polite doing all that kicking when you haven't got any pants on.”

“Ohhhh!” she repeated, her face flaming with embarrassment. But she stopped kicking and kept her legs firmly together. “You insufferable man,” she muttered.

“If you say so,” he said cheerfully.

Miss Mermaid tried to maintain what shred of dignity she had left by keeping quiet for a minute or two. Though it was very hard to act dignified without any knickers on, and being jolted and bounced and generally tossed around over someone's shoulders. When she did speak it was to say, “Head towards the lighthouse.”

“I already am.” He shifted his burden slightly and began the ascent up a narrow path that led up to the cliff top.

She frowned at this. “Have you been spying on me?”

“No. Why should I do that?”

“Because you're heading towards the lighthouse, and that's where I'm staying.”

“Yes I know.” He soldiered on. Miss Mermaid seemed to grow heavier and heavier with every step he took up the incline. Was this a woman he had tossed over his shoulder or a small hippopotamus?

“What? You know? How the hell do you know that? See – you have been spying on me! I knew it.”

“Stop talking tripe.”

There was a silence. Then he felt her body shake. Poor thing. She must be freezing. “It's ok. We're almost there.” He struggled onwards and upwards, feeling the perspiration trickle from his brow. Was it really a woman he had hoisted over his shoulder, or a small hippopotamus? She seemed to be growing heavier by the minute. Then, to his surprise, the silence was broken by giggles. “Hey – are you actually laughing, Miss Mermaid?” She nodded her head and continued giggling. He rather liked the sound of her laughter. It was infectious. He found himself smiling in addition to sweating. Reaching the little path that led to the lighthouse cottage he set her down. “Ok. Share the joke. I want to know.”

“It's what you said. 'Don't talk tripe' – what on earth is that supposed to mean?” She looked at him, a smile on her face. He liked it, not only her smile, but her face, her legs, the windswept blonde hair and sea-blue eyes... everything about her.

“Beats me. It's something my Granddad used to say.” He grinned back at her. “I reckon it means something like stop saying silly things.”

“You northerners and your funny expressions.” She gave him a quizzical look, which changed to one of horror.

“What is it?”

“My key! Oh no – I left it on top of my flip flops. Shit!” she said crossly.

“Tsk, tsk, more bad language.”

“But you don't understand. I'm staying here for two weeks and I've lost my key.”

“Oh well, we'd best use mine then.” He delved into the back pocket of his jeans and produced it with a flourish. Miss Mermaid stared at it. Then she stared at Ben.

“I don't understand. How come you have a key to the lighthouse cottage?”

“I'm the lighthouse keeper – or was, it's all automated now but I still check in from time to time and do a bit of maintenance if needed. Come on, let's get you inside so you can change into some dry clothes, then I'll explain.”

Interview with spanking romance author Leigh Smith

A warm welcome to Leigh Smith who is with me today to talk about her writing.

Here we go!

Abigail
How long have you been writing?

Leigh
It’s no secret that I’ve been writing for about two and a half years. A fellow blogger posted a short story every Friday, and was always calling for stories, so I wrote one and submitted it. It received a good response, and I subsequently wrote others. Eventually, I started my own blog and feature a new short story every Monday.

Abigail
How did your writing interest develop into writing books?

Leigh
Many of my fellow bloggers kept urging me to submit my stories to a publisher. I took their advice, and after increasing the length of some of my stories I included them in a story collection that first appeared on my blog.

Abigail
What's your favourite genre?

Leigh
I love cowboys and westerns, so many of my books and stories have a flavour of the west. Having grown up with Roy Rogers and westerns galore, my fantasies take hold when writing about an obstinate, dominant man who works hard and takes no prisoners, especially feisty females.

Abigail
Do you have a favourite book or author?

Leigh
I’ve been a reader all of my life. I remember when I was young I would sit at the breakfast table and read the cereal boxes, much to my mother’s displeasure. To pick a favorite book or author would be impossible. They are all my favorites as I’m reading, but once they are finished they move to the back of the line and are lost in the recesses of my mind. Of course, the classics always remain in the forefront, but in my every day reading, most of the time I couldn’t even tell you the title. When I finish one a book, I just go to the next one of my reading lists.

Abigail
Do you think you will ever write a book that doesn’t contain spanking?

Leigh
I may write one, but I don’t think I would ever sell one. I consider myself more of a story teller than a writer, and I’m not sure anyone would be interested in purchasing one of my stories without the spanking. I have written stories in which spanking was implied and not carried out, but the threat was always there.

Abigail
How do you go about writing a story?

Leigh
I have no plan, no outline, nothing. I sit down at the keyboard, and my fingers start writing. I am a moment to moment writer in that I can write many stories and words quickly and then not do it again for days. A friend of mine recently told me she was fascinated at the many different characters and story lines I am able to produce. There is no rhyme nor reason to my writing pattern.

Abigail
Do you have other hobbies?

Leigh
I paint, and I do it in the same way as I write. I may paint two or three pictures and then not pick up a brush again for weeks or months. At one time, I went years.

Abigail
Have you told your family and friends about your books?

Leigh
I’ve told a couple of my friends, who have told a couple of their friends, and I’ve mentioned it to some of my family. When I told my brother, his response was to ask if I make any money at it. He didn't ask any other questions. My sister did ask what kind of stories I wrote; I told her romantic stories with a kink. Her response was “Ohh” and it has not come up again. I can’t ever see me telling our daughter and grand-kids, but never say never.

Abigail
Do you have any works in progress?

Leigh
There is a story that has recently been submitted to my publisher, LSF Publications, and I’m waiting on a response.

I am also working on a story about a middle-aged couple and their long-standing relationship, and then, and then...

**********

Here's the blurb from Leigh's latest release, At the End of the Rainbow.

After a gruelling 18-month work schedule in support of a political campaign in Washington DC, 33 year-old Melody decides to spend some time with her sister's family at their ranch in Montana. She is given an especially warm welcome by her sister Penny, who loses no time in making a list of the local eligible bachelors … a wasted effort, because on her fourth day at the ranch, Melody meets a tall, handsome cowboy called Kendall (Ken) and they soon begin seeing each other.

Not everything goes entirely smoothly though, and it's not long before Ken, who believes in traditional family values, has cause to take the sassy Melody over his knee for a good old fashioned spanking. At first Melody is reluctant to commit to the relationship but it isn't long before she falls head over heels in love with cowboy Ken. She soon discovers that their post-spanking lovemaking more than makes up for a sore bottom!

The relationship flourishes and the couple get engaged. But when Melody returns home to Washington to let go of her apartment and sort out her possessions, she is contacted by Senator Brewster who makes her an attractive job offer that is hard to resist... It's time for Melody to make an important decision. Will she find love and happiness at the end of the rainbow...?

Well done, Leigh. Pantser or plotter? From what you have shared with us we can see you write by the seat of your pants. Long may it continue!

Interview with spanking author Susan Thomas

Interview with spanking author, Susan Thomas.

It's always good to showcase other spanking authors, and I have Susan Thomas with me today, sharing news about her latest release and information about her work in progress.

Abigail
How long have you been writing spanking fiction?

Susan
Ten years now and no more. My first story was really almost an accident. It was written for an online friend I wouldn’t be able to IM for some days, so I wrote it as a sort of going away present. My friend insisted on sending it to someone to publish and to my surprise it was. That was the start, now it is hard to stop, and I also write non-spanking fiction.

Abigail
Did you read spanking fiction before you started writing it yourself?

Susan
Oh yes indeed. Once I had access to the Internet I began searching and was astonished by how much there was. I also used to come across references in ordinary novels, sometimes no more than hints, but I read those most carefully. I always kept it secret though, it was very much a guilty late night pleasure. I was always particularly excited by the ‘innocent young woman gets caught up in something and ends getting spanked’ type of story. Also any story where a young teacher finds herself in a situation where she has to be punished. That was probably because I was a young teacher.

Abigail
Do you produce detailed plots in advance or do you adopt a more relaxed approached and just go with the flow?

Susan
Abigail that’s almost a funny question as far as I’m concerned. I have listened to authors talk and some have told how they lay out each chapter in a sketch and then come back to write those chapters. I start with an idea and believe I will stick with it but I rarely do. The story seems to take over and some characters are extraordinarily willful and will just not do what I tell them. In the end I just give in and let the story and the characters take me along - all I do is type.

Some of my short stories are not like that; they appear complete in my head and I just write them. Usually the appearance is in the middle of the night when I really should be sleeping. One story I composed entirely in my head while lying on an intensive care ward bed. You would think that the mind would not be capable of doing that when the body is in such a bad state but I promise it’s true. When I eventually recovered I wrote it up with no changes.

Abigail
Who is the favourite character you've come up with and why?

Susan
I think Erin in Erin’s Visit is my favourite. She is the girl I would like to have been if my early life had been different. She has my independence of thought; not for her the route laid out to university and career, instead she chooses to work for her uncle in small town America. She is realistic enough to see she had better subscribe to the spanking ethos that she now lives in and I'm certainly realistic. She is brave enough to take the punishments handed out to her; well I hope I would too though I’m not sure I’m as brave as her. She is a kind girl and I do try hard with that, it is something I value. A little kindness goes a long way in this world.

Abigail
Are you a spanko, or someone who just likes to write about it?

Susan
Now that is a difficult question for me. Until my early thirties I didn’t really have any interest in spanking. I did have an experience in my first year of teaching when my boyfriend (a colleague) spanked me and I dumped him rapidly after that. I was outraged that he should feel he had the right. Then in my early thirties it seemed to me everything changed and I thought a great deal about it. That’s when I began exploring the whole world of spanking. It was very cautiously I can tell you. I was terrified someone would find out. Finally I had a short spanking relationship with another woman. I suppose that all makes me a spanko but perhaps a late convert.

Abigail
Does your family know about your spanking stories and books?

Susan
My husband does and he often discusses one with me. My parents-in-law also know, my father-in-law in particular. I expect that sounds very strange indeed but it all sort of happened by accident and to us is seems normal. None of my children or friends do. My eldest daughter knows I write but she only ever sees the non-spanking stuff. I tell my friends I also write erotica but I never show them anything.

Abigail
What is your favourite spanking implement?

Susan
My goodness another hard question for me. It implies I like being spanked, which I don’t! As far as I am concerned it hurts, but the problem is I like the possibility of it and most definitely the afterwards. Some years ago now I entered a sort of DD relationship with my husband. Not one of those where he tells me what to do every minute of the day or what to wear but he definitely wears the in-charge badge and he can spank me… and does. That may shock some but we are now very close as a result and happy like that. It is an arrangement that may well have saved our marriage. He mainly uses his hand but he also uses a small leather spanking paddle. Of those two I prefer his hand. I also, just like India Heath, enjoy the intimacy of that.

Abigail
What are your favourite spanking sub genres?

Susan
I am not sure I have one. I don’t like brutality or cruelty in any spanking story. Nor do I like male spankers who simply assume the right to spank. My spankers must be essentially very kind and when they spank it is for the lady’s own good and not be excessive. Though of course excessive is in the eye of the beholder.

I quite like romance but I have read some which left me wondering what on earth the girl could see in the man. Western romances are often quite good because it is a male dominated world but with rules and almost all the cowboy heroes only ever spank for the good of the girl who always seems intent on doing something silly. I suppose I am a hard to satisfy reader!

Abigail
Spanking has always been a hot and often contentious topic. What makes it a hot topic for you?

Susan
I suppose it is to do with submission. Inevitably the girl or woman spanked must submit to the strong man who spanks her. She may squeal and kick but deep down she knows it is for her good. That is why it is important in my fiction world that the man be strong but kind. I am generally considered a strong person and I cannot imagine myself submitting to anyone not like that. I also adore the cathartic nature of being spanked. I might get myself really het up but after a spanking I am calm and full of well-being.

Abigail
Can you tell us about any of your works in progress?

Susan
Yes of course. I am attempting to write my first proper spanking novel. I would really describe anything lengthy I have written before as either a long serial or simply a long story and I’m really enjoying the challenge of it.

I suppose it is a sort of spanking mystery story set on an imaginary island. It appears to outsiders as simply an island enclave for the rich but the men are in charge in a most chivalrous way; there is even a court of gentleman where ‘ungentlemanly’ behaviour is put on trial. The women can and do get spanked but have all chosen the life. My heroine senses though that there is somebody behind the men who run the island… but who are they and why are they hiding? Her friend too is telling lies but she can’t work out why, and someone is spying on her. Needless to say her attempts at finding out end with many a sore bottom before she finds out the truth. I have no idea whether anyone else will enjoy reading it but I am enjoying writing it. The working title is Chapel Island.

**********

So far so good, and here's some info about Susan's published books:
Erin's Visit

Instead of going to University, Erin decides to go to America and stay with her Aunt Nicola and Uncle Jack, and work at the family business. Erin's mother has some misgivings as her churchgoing sister and brother-in-law live in a strongly religious area. Undeterred, Erin makes the trip, and discovers that she is now in a totally different environment and culture - because here in this devout Christian community, spankings are the norm. She finds that the church endorses physical chastisement and all the neighbouring houses have a church-approved spanking paddle hanging up in their homes. Erin realises her status as an unspanked 18-year old may mean she may not be popular with the other girls - so she takes steps to sign up to receiving regular spankings from her Uncle Jack. This is a rite-of-passage tale for Erin, who begins to learn the meaning of traditional discipline. She starts a relationship with local boy Josh who comes from an extremely strict family, and as their relationship develops, Erin grows in confidence and maturity and also learns more about the community in which she lives.

And here's Susan's new release - Spanking the Secretary's Bottom
When Helen takes a job as a secretary at the prestigious Lady Alice school she is shocked and intrigued to discover that the headmaster, Dr Croft, canes the upper sixth girls. As her fascination with corporal punishment grows, she manages to get the headmaster to punish her for her own misdeeds - to their mutual satisfaction.

When a lucrative job offer comes up in government, Helen takes it, and makes the acquaintance of eligible bachelor, Crispin. The two become close, and Helen soon finds that Crispin canes far harder than Dr Croft ever did! It is not long before she becomes a regular visitor at Crispin's family home. The wealthy upper class family is headed by Crispin's father, the General, who takes discipline in the family very seriously, and does not hesitate to punish unacceptable behaviour.

Helen experiences two hard canings and a painful birching at the hands of the General. Yet in spite of the discipline, she feels more welcomed and loved by Crispin's family than by her own. As her relationship with Crispin deepens, a wedding is on the cards...

Interview with new spanking romance author, India Heath

Interview with new spanking romance author, India Heath.

India Heath is with me today, sharing news about her latest releases - The Wild cat & the Sheriff, and Disciplined by the Doctor. India and I have several things in common - spanking, Alpha males, and ... chocolate! See - we're kindred spirits. But before we get down to the nitty gritty of India's mew releases, here's a little info about India Heath and what makes her tick ...

Abigail
How long have you been writing spanking fiction?

India
All my life, it seems. Certainly since my early teens. And before I could write I would try to draw pictures of girls being spanked over the knee, using little stick people (because I have absolutely no drawing skills whatsoever). It was during the early years of marriage that I became more serious about writing though. I was at home with three babies and writing kept me sane. I would take a pad and pen everywhere with me, even to bed. I remember standing at the cooker, frying an egg with one hand and scribbling down the next line of a love/spanking scene with the other. It is truly a lifelong dream come true to finally be a published author.

Abigail
Did you read spanking fiction before you started writing it yourself?

India
Yes and no! When I was young I had no idea that spanking fiction even existed. But at eleven my mum gave me my first romance book to read. I still remember the title and that the heroine was named Johanna. I was immediately enraptured by the battle of wills between Johanna and her hero. Then to my complete surprise and utter delight, by the third chapter he'd spanked her. I was hooked. I devoured every romance book I could get my hands on after that. I quickly learned how to 'scan read' a book to see if it contained a spanking scene, or even just a threat of a spanking. It's amazing how the 'S' word springs out from the page if you're a spanko!

Abigail
Are you a spanko, or someone who just likes to write about it?

India
Oh yes, I am definitely a spanko. It made my tummy flip even when I was a very small child. I learnt to read thanks to Enid Blyton's penchant for spanking tales, with big gruff teddybears taming naughty dolls. I don't remember a time when I wasn't a spanko. It was always just a part of me, like the colour of my eyes. Of course that doesn't mean to say I was always happy about it. Like many of us, I spent years regarding it as my dirty little secret, too embarrassed to tell anyone.

Abigail
Does your family know about your romantic spanking books?

India
Some of them do. My husband, of course, knows everything and even though he is a vanilla, I think he is quietly proud of my writing. My daughter knows too. She sent me a text to say she had 'found' me on Amazon. I asked if she had downloaded a book and she replied, "No mum, there are lines you just don't cross." By and large, my family presume I write 'mummy porn' as opposed to spanking romance. I am happy to let them think that.

Abigail
What is your favourite spanking implement?

India
Definitely the hand. Does that count as an implement? There is nothing more erotic and sexy than a man's palm smacking a girl's bare bottom. It has to be over his knee too. Spanking for me is very sexual, so physical contact plays a huge part in the enjoyment. I love the idea of a spanking being purely punitive but in practice the result for me would always be arousal. There is intimacy in a hand spanking that is absent when an implement is used.

My second choice though would be a good old-fashioned hairbrush. Every girl has one to hand so no excuses if you're sent to fetch one. It's impact is firm but not cruel in the right hands, and it leaves delicious marks on the bottom.

Abigail
What are your favourite spanking sub genres?

India
My favourite sub genre is cowboy romance, without a doubt. Cowboys are always big, rough, tough, loving, firm and fair - it's the law! They lived during a time when political correctness and women's lib simply did not exist. So if a girl misbehaved she could expect to be hauled across a cowboy's lap and paddled. As a writer, the Wild West also allows me to create feisty females. They can cuss and shoot and get up to all sorts of mischief that modern day brats can't.

I am also fascinated by vampires - dark and mysterious lovers who dominate and control their mates with their minds and a heavy right hand.

Abigail
Spanking has always been a hot and often contentious topic. What makes it a hot topic for you?

India
I find it intriguing that an act of pain and humiliation can also be so exciting, pleasurable and fun. I like to explore this paradox in my stories. The heroine might protest loudly but her body responds positively to the spanking. Even as she lies bottom up and kicking, the butterflies are dancing in her tummy. And the key reason for this is love. I am a romantic right down to my toes. For me love and discipline go hand in hand. When my hero spanks his brat, he is showing her he cares. And as his large, work roughened palm lands upon her vulnerable bare behind, a mere breath away from her throbbing sex... well, what girl wouldn't find that fun?

Abigail
Can you tell us about any of your works in progress?

India
I have just finished writing another cowboy story. It is set on a Texan ranch where the prickly little owner is struggling to cope alone, following the death of her father. Her home is under threat from both a thieving employee and a silent investor. Along comes our big burly cowboy to teach her that belligerence and foot stamping get her no further than over his knee. All too soon though, she is relying on his strength and experience to help run the ranch, and her heart is his for the taking.

Here's the blurb from The Wild Cat & the Sheriff...

The year is 1885, and the little town of St Elmo, Colorado is forced to take notice of the new girl in town. The feisty Eliza Cooper encourages a group of women to demonstrate outside the saloon, where they voice their protests about the sin of gambling and alcohol. Sheriff Vince Turner arrives to break up the rowdy demonstration, and Eliza gives him so much sass she finds herself hoisted over his shoulder and carried off to the jailhouse where she earns herself the first of many a spanking over the big sheriff's lap. Despite her outrage, Eliza can't ignore the spark of attraction towards Vince, and when the handsome lawman asks her out to dinner, she is delighted. The two are well matched, but Eliza just can't seem to keep out of trouble. She has an attitude, a fiery temper, and can be an uncontrollable brat. But it seems that now she is the Sheriff's girl, she has at last found someone to tame her, someone who is caring and protective, someone who excels in showing her the many delicious ways a man can please his woman...

And here's the blurb for Disciplined by the Doctor...

There's only one doctor in Springrock. His name is Sam Baxter and he's one good-looking guy. When Sheriff Keane finds a young woman slumped against the wheel of her car after she skidded off the road into a tree, he brings her in to Sam's surgery. The new patient is 21-year-old Emma James, and she's small, cute and frightened. Feeling protective towards her, Sam takes her home that night to the house he shares with his younger sister, Rachel. It isn't too long before Emma finds that Sam doesn't hesitate to give a girl a good spanking when needed, and she soon begins to crave his expert attention. She often gets in trouble and needs punishment to feel better again – a fact that Sam clearly recognises! Romance blossoms and Emma thrives in her new life.
